Plenty of parking, and every single person in the store is helpful, and if they don't know the answer will go find someone who does. And the prices are just as competitive as the mainland chains!

My Black and Decker router guide failed after 30 yrs of use: the threads on 2 thumbscrews and 2 nuts were stripped. I went to City Mill to find this hardware as I thought I had a very good chance of finding what I needed. Gary in the screws, nuts and bolts section helped me. He tested both new thumbscrews and nuts to verify I had the correct parts. Done in less than 5 minutes! I like City Mill as I can find help when I need it. They have a very good selection of hardware parts and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This City Mill is very close to my home and thus saves me a lot of time. My router guide is working again. The parts from City Mill appear to be better quality than the original parts.

City Mill is my first stop for hardware needs because its in my neighborhood and I like to support local business. I have found their team to be really helpful over the past several years with all my home improvement and art projects, whether it was cutting concrete backer board, or pieces or wood, or helping me select the best smoke alarm or fasteners that will do what I need them to do. I don't agree with another guy's review, since I've returned a number of items and never had a problem. I do agree that some of the selection is limited, but I'm beginning to understand that this is true for all of the hardware stores in Hawaii. But they have a fair amount of power tools, home cleaners, light bulbs and fasteners. They recently started stocking a larger selection of pre-cut plywood and melamine boards. I think they also offer a wider selection of Dremel bits than Home Depot does. So, it just depends what you're looking for. I think the part I like best is how the other customers are also so helpful in figuring out what I need to get my latest project done.

I love that City Mill is a locally owned business and I would much rather support them than Home Depot or Lowe’s, the only problem is their limited selection on certain items. You can always call ahead before heading over to make sure they have something in stock and if they do you can guarantee you’ll pay less for it than at either HD or Lowe’s. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and returns are easy.

The guys a City Mill saved me today !!! They were really friendly and helpful. I had no real clue how to fix the clogged pipes from under my sink, but when the guys from plumbing saw the part I bought in they gave me an excellent alternative. I did exactly as they told me every thing went back together perfectly with no leaks so far !!! Thanks you guys !!!

Great neighbourhood spot. The store is well organized and clean, employees are helpful. They not only carry standard hardware store items, but home decor and organizational items as well. I’m disappointed (in myself) that I didn’t come here and instead bounced between the big box stores looking for basic house goods (brooms, cleaning supplies, welcome mat, etc.) as they have it all, and at decent prices too. A large selection of SimpleHuman items priced the same (or just $1 more) than Amazon. Over the door hangers, waste bins, soap pumps, and every oxo brand kitchen item. In addition, they also carry furniture at very affordable prices. Their garden center was well stocked. I picked up perlite, peat and sphagnum mix, seed starter kit, and a few misc seed packets. As others have mentioned, if you want something in particular, you can call ahead. Highly recommend if you’re new to the neighbourhood and need to stock up without dealing with the bustle around Ala Moana. Always great to support a local business. Mahalo City Mill.

Helpful service, if you can find an available employee, and motivating selection of home-repair and garden products. They cut jalousies / glass for windows. Reasonably priced. Very thankful that this home-improvement shop has a large selection of organic and locally sourced seeds (from Fukuda Seed Store & Aina Ola Seed), including for many Japanese & Chinese vegetables.

This Hardware store has been in the neighborhood since I was a young girl, providing for the people in this area with a variety of all sorts of items for a business or home. City Mill can be seen from the street im all directions with their own parking area for the steady flow of customers throughout the day. Not only can you shop in store but they offer store pickup when order online. Clean, neat and organized with various signs to lead you to an item. Friendly staff around the store willing to assist if in need. Public restrooms available in their outdoor area where you find garden/yard items, lumber and even a customize station for window screens to be made. You will also find a cashier located just as you enter/exit this area. Small plant section where recently one of the only Native Hawaiian Plant Nursery provides various native plants to purchase. I do periodically shop at this neighborhood hardware store once a month for convenience but most times your able to find most anything you looking for. Ever in the area and in need of a tool or something keep this neighborhood hardware store in mind.

I stopped in to pick up a light fixture and was surprised at how big the place is on the inside! It’s much more spacious than it looks from the street. Unlike the overwhelming big box stores, this location isn't as densely packed, making it pretty easy to find exactly the part I needed. They have an impressive selection of everything from lumber and tools to electrical supplies and even furniture. The staff was knowledgable and very helpful. It's a great local spot for home improvement!
